Hi!
Let's start with how it all began - my passion for embroidery. I've always enjoyed homemade crafts with an artistic touch. Before diving into needles and threads, I tried my hand at various crafts, but embroidery captured my heart several years ago, and I haven't looked back since.
As my embroidery work gained attention, my husband and I toyed with the idea of selling my creations. We launched an Etsy store selling a few of my hoops, but we quickly realized that e-commerce wasn't as straightforward as we thought. My husband took on the challenge of learning the ropes while I focused on product design, and future ideas.
And so, Makile was born. We're passionate about nature, and we wanted to create something that honoured our planet - a brand of natural, sustainable products infused with my embroidery crafts. Why linen fabric and these products? That's a topic for another post, but it had to be a natural fabric. Why natural colours, plain products, and delicate designs? Eclectic style is my favourite, a mixture of many different styles is something that really resonates with me. Therefore, natural products with minimalistic handmade embroidery seemed like the perfect fit for my favourite style, and this is just the beginning. I would love to continue minimalistic design collections but also want to create separate collections with single, original embroidery designs that will be more complex. Obviously, if you are attracted only by the beauty of linen fabric and admire a real minimalistic style, plain products are right there for you.
I'm already working on the second collection with handmade embroidery, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Take a look at my inaugural collections and let me know what you think. Follow me on social media and sign up for emails to be the first to see new designs.
Regards,
Martyna
